WELCOME TO AGVLL

It’s almost that time of year again! As winter fades and spring arrives it will be time to PLAY BALL with Arroyo Grande Valley Little League! There are some exciting updates to AGVLL in 2019. This year every division will play at Soto Sports Complex, so the entire league can enjoy the baseball spirit and snack shack. Also the divisions have been updated ( breakdown below) to help our youth develop a great foundation for the game of baseball as well as building good sportsmanship, and learning to work together as a team! Registration opens December 1, 2018. Be sure to check out our calendar link below for all important league and community event dates. There is also a map of the AGVLL boundaries below. READ CARFULLY AS PUR DIVISIONS AND FEES HAVE CHANGED

Registration fees are $135 for the first child being registered $100 for the second and so on. 

T-BALL (4 years- 6 years)

- Beginner/Entry level baseball for young players

- Hits off Tee first half of season, second half of the season is coach underhand pitch. After 3 missed underhand pitches, player hits off a tee.

- All players play defense and hit each inning

- Score is not kept/no standings

- Gain an understanding of the fundamental rules of baseball

- 50ft Base Path Distance

- Play 1 to 2 games per week.

-Games are no more then 1 hour in length (play is stopped at 60 minutes, no matter where the offensive team is in their lineup).

- Games are typically once during week and once on weekend.

 

CAPS (Coach Pitch) (6years -8 years) (9 year old with board approval)

- Beginners division for league 

- Coach Pitch first half of season and player league age 7+ pitch, second half of season with Defensive coach calling balls and strikes from behind pitcher.

- Score is NOT kept/no standings

-This is NOT a competitive division and Coaches and Parents must commit to keeping the games a fun learning atmosphere for all players involved!

- 6 defensive players on the infield with all remaining players playing in the outfield

- Gain an understanding of the fundamental rules of baseball

- 50ft Base Path Distance

-90 minute Games (play is stopped at 90 minutes no matter how many outs are recorded or where the offensive team is in their lineup).

- Each inning is continuous batting order or 3 outs.  Whichever comes first

- Play 2 games per week.

-Games are typically once during the week and once on weekend.

 

UPPER DIVISIONS - Competitive baseball divisions that are officiated by an umpire where game results, player stats and divisional standings are kept.

 

MINORS (8years- 10 years)

(8 year- old who don’t wish to compete at this level, should not attend tryouts)

- Introduction into Competitive baseball/Instruction based

-LL Green Book Rules

- Player pitch

- Umpire assigned

- Scoring and Pitch Counts maintained 

- Continuous batting order utilized

- 9 players play defense each inning

- Every Player MUST play at least 1 inning at an infield position, before the end of the 3rd inning.

-No player sits on bench for consecutive innings

- Must attend one try-out date

- Players selected to teams by Managers in draft

- 60 ft Base Path Distance & 42 ft Pitching Distance

- Two games per week

- Games typically played once during week and once on weekend

 

MAJORS (10 years- 12 years)

- Competitive/Instruction Play

  • LL Green Book Rules

- Player pitch

- Umpire assigned

- Scoring and Pitch Counts maintained 

- Continuous batting order utilized

- 9 players play defense each inning

  • Minimum Play Rule - Each player must play a minimum of 6 defensive outs and have at least 1 at-bat per game

- Must attend one try-out date

- Players selected to teams by Managers in draft

- 60 ft Base Path Distance & 46 ft Pitching Distance

- Two games per week

- Games typically played once during week and once on weekend
