Double Elimination Tournament: In double elimination tournaments, teams are eliminated from the tournament after their second loss.
The regular season record will determine the seeding for the double elimination tournament.
If two teams have the same record, the winner will be based on head-to-head competition. If the head-to-head competition is tied, then the winner will be based on fewest runs allowed during the season. If three teams have the same record, the winner will based on runs allowed per inning played.
During the tournament, the home team will be determined by the tournament seeding. The team with the higher seeding will be the home team. Once a team has lost a tournament game the team loses its seeding. If two teams with tournament losses are playing, the home team will be determined by a coin flip prior to the game.
Same rules as regular season apply.
Except for Minors - Innings 1, 2, 3 will have the 5 Run Rule in place. Innings 4, 5, 6 are open innings.
Tie Games - When six innings (Intermediate: seven innings) have been completed and the score is tied, the following tie breaker will be played to determine the winning team.
A seventh inning (Intermediate: 8th inning) will be played as normal.
Starting at the top of the eighth inning (intermediate: 9th inning), and each half inning thereafter, the offensive team shall begin its turn at bat with the player who is scheduled to bat last in that respective inning being placed on second base.
Example: If the number five batter is the lead-off batter, the number four batter will be placed on second base.
(It's easy to add a runner on 2nd base in game changer. At the beginning of an inning, simply tap 2nd base and select the option to Place Runner on 2nd. From there it will ask you what player to place on 2nd.)
If a weekday game is tied and the umpire calls the game due to darkness, the game will resume on the next available day that the field is available. Pitch count guidelines and days of rest must be followed for resumed games.
CALM DOWN! *Reminder to parents and coaches*. It's all about having fun. During the tournament players, parents and coaches are more invested in their game performance. We ask that everyone calm down and let the kids play and have fun.
UMPIRES: Our umpires are volunteers. Without them, we could not run our league. Do NOT yell at, question calls, or antagonize the umpires in anyway. This will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave.
